Viva Macau flies daily to HCMC
Update: Jul 27, 2009
Viva Macau Airlines has announces its Macau-HCMC frequency increase from four weekly nonstop flights to daily service in less than two years of launching service to Vietnam.

“Since the inauguration of our HCMC service in December 2007, we have seen constant growth in passenger numbers between the two destinations,” said Reg Macdonald, acting chief executive officer of Viva Macau.

Macdonald did not detail the seat occupancy on the flights between Macau and HCMC, but said that he was confident in the Vietnamese market as the number of passengers on such flights had grown strongly since the airline commenced service to Vietnam.

Macdonald told reporters in HCMC that the daily service was expected to provide customers with more choice, reasonable fares and more flexibility to travel between Macau and this commercial hub of Vietnam.

Viva Macau charges from US$49 for a one-way trip between HCMC and Macau. The value-for-money airline now uses a 245-seat wide-body Boeing 767-300 aircraft in Premium and Economy-class configuration for the daily flight scheduled to arrive at Tan Son Nhat Airport at 8:30 a.m. and depart HCMC at 9:45 a.m.

The route is the shortest in Viva Macau’s network and its schedule provides unparalleled convenience to its customers. In addition, the carrier currently flies to Australia’s Sydney, Japan’s Tokyo, and Indonesia Jakarta, and is planning to commence more non-stop flights to other destinations in Asia and beyond.

Also last week, Viva Macau unveiled the appointment of TransViet as its general sales agent in Vietnam after a period the company acted as an air ticket distributor for the airline in this market. “Through our strategic partnership with TransViet, we will enhance our presence and distribution channels in Vietnam,” Macdonald said.

To commemorate its daily service and new general sales agent in Vietnam, Viva Macau is promoting all-in tour packages including hotel, sightseeing, tour guide and meals from only US$319. This package is available for booking at TransViet Travel via (84-8) 3930 3044 or travel agents in Vietnam.
